I started A Virtual Resource because I enjoy helping other small business owners, especially in the holistic and metaphysical communities, accomplish the important goal of operating a successful business. How do I do that? By taking care of the administrative tasks that can eat up a day amazingly fast.

I have over eight years experience as an office and administrative assistant; the latter position for the owners of small businesses. Small businesses are unique. Every staff member has to be willing to wear multiple hats and change hats when circumstances demand it. I have done that. Sometimes it was enjoyable; sometimes it wasn't. I do, however, enjoy using my computer skills and job experience to help others accomplish their goals. I get a deep satisfaction when a client is happy with my services and I have made their day easier.

I also have five years experience as a software instructor for non-credit community classes and customized training for businesses in the Spokane, WA area. Helping a student get to the “ah-ha!” moment is very fulfilling. I am especially proud of how I attained the position of lead instructor of The Institute for Extended Learning’s Business & Industry Training Division. I was hired as an office assistant with minimal computers skills. I sat in on every class I could, on my own time, and applied what I learned daily.  After almost two years, the opportunity to teach a computer class was presented to me and I took it. I had a knack for it and enjoyed it. (Check out my online tutoring details.)

In my free time, I am studying aromatherapy because I am intrigued by the power and flexibility of essential oils. I am traveling a holistic path and enjoy working with others who share the same mindset. Most recently, I have been a part of a small group who have created the Coeur d'Alene Holistic Chamber of Commerce to promote and support the holistic business community.
